We have designed this FLORAL INTENSIVE as either an INTRODUCTION or a REFRESHER to grow your floral creative skills…. you may be an absolute beginner who wants to see if floral design is for you OR you may have some previous floral training or completed our Florals 1 ONLINE course and want to come to our workroom to further develop the skills you have learned - but with Vicki on hand to help you hone your techniques and design skills…

Let’s create loose, natural, whimsical “gathered from the garden” styled hand tied bouquets and overflowing compote arrangements. We will have an abundance of small flower farm- sourced blooms to work with, and we will explore “stem by stem” and “hand vase” techniques and learn to use “foam free” sustainable mechanics.
All floral ingredients and tools and morning tea provided.

The Workroom at THE WILDFLOWER SCHOOL on Woodside Bay, Waiheke island
Let’s create Modern sculptural and “ ikebana” styled hand tied bouquets and low contemporary arrangements. We will have an eclectic mix of textural blooms to work with, and we will explore “ blocking” and “clustering” techniques and learn to use “foam free” sustainable mechanics.

The Workroom at THE WILDFLOWER SCHOOL on Woodside Bay, Waiheke island
Let’s hone your wiring skills and create tiny floral arrangements in miniature when you learn how to make personal wedding flowers: buttonholes, pin corsages, wrist corsages and hair flowers. We will learn all the techniques required and look at different styles of personal flowers and in particular the looks that are popular in weddings in recent seasons.

Let’s go BIG with our florals! We will create large vessel arrangements- maybe in a garden style? Then we will look at two types of installations popular in weddings recently: a long low Meadow arrangement and also a more modern sculptural style ceremony installation. As well as design considerations we will learn about the specific (sustainable) mechanics used to give flower stems the support they need in these larger arrangements.
